Online Shopping Tips for the Holidays!

Tips: Shopping Tip List

Here’s a list of tips you should consult when shopping online. Print this page and keep it in a handy place so it will be easy to review before you order.

  1. Trust your instincts. If you don’t feel comfortable buying or bidding on an item over the web, or if you feel pressured to place your order immediately, maybe you shouldn’t.
  2. Be knowledgeable about web-based auctions. Take special care to familiarize yourself not only with the rules and policies of the auction site itself but with the legal terms (warranties, refund policy, etc.) of the seller’s items that you wish to bid on.
  3. Double check pricing. Be suspicious of prices that are too good to be true. Also consider carefully whether you may be paying too much for an item, particularly if you’re bidding through an auction site. You may want to comparison shop, online or offline, before you buy. Make sure there are not extra shipping or handling costs.  Read the rest of this entry »

Why Social Media?

So whats the big deal? Do you really need to be a part of this “phenomenon”?  Is it worth investing in?  The answer to both those questions is a resounding YES.

Maintaining a social media presence can be  invaluable for your business.  Not only does it put your business where your customers are, but it gives them a direct conduit to interact with you.  It also gives you a direct line to market to and interact with current and future clients.  It puts your business in front of literally thousands of faces that would otherwise most likely never hear of you.

Some other reasons why Social Media is a good idea:

1. Quick results - with social media you can develop content and be seen by thousands of visitors within the same day.

2. Flexible - Whatever your needs and your audience, there should be an option to use social media for your benefit.

3.  Predictable - once you know a social media audience pretty well, you can cater content to their preferences with a pretty high success rate. What you learn about social media can easily be duplicated to your other blogs or to serving clients.

4.  Increased traffic - success with social media will likely increase the number of inbound links you receive. Links will boost your search engine rankings and they’ll also drive click-through traffic your way. Both are generally high quality traffic sources.

If your business is not utilizing Social Media, you are missing a valuable opportunity!

Its our Birthday!

Everybody has a friend who announces his or her birthday waaaaaay before it’s time just to ensure that people remember. If you frequently forget birthdays like I do (including my own if I’m lucky), this can be helpful to ensure you don’t forget to celebrate, send birthday wishes, etc. But it can get a tad tedious to listen to that countdown (Two weeks until my birthday! One week until my birthday! My birthday is tomorrow! It’s my BIRTHDAAAAAAAY!). I mean, it’s not a nuclear missile launch, and it’s not your birthday. Read the rest of this entry »
