Everybody has a friend who announces his or her birthday waaaaaay before it’s time just to ensure that people remember. If you frequently forget birthdays like I do (including my own if I’m lucky), this can be helpful to ensure you don’t forget to celebrate, send birthday wishes, etc. But it can get a tad tedious to listen to that countdown (Two weeks until my birthday! One week until my birthday! My birthday is tomorrow! It’s my BIRTHDAAAAAAAY!). I mean, it’s not a nuclear missile launch, and it’s not your birthday.

But imagine if someone offered to give you presents on their birthday. That might be something worth listening to, eh?

So if you couldn’t guess, our birthday is coming up. We would like to celebrate by giving out some presents to you – our friends, fans and loyal customers.

To celebrate an excellent first year running our very own computer shop, we are sponsoring a Facebook vs. Twitter fan\follower battle. It’s a contest for people who follow Geek Easy Computers on either social networking site to spread the word about our birthday (because we’re so excited) and win prizes for it. The idea is simple. We will be giving away increasingly impressive prizes to groups of fans based on the number for either site. Both sites have somewhere between 250 and 275 as of right now. You spread the word, and we will award prizes whenever one site or the other reaches a milestone faster. For example – at 300 fans\followers we will be giving out a gift certificate for a free service. If 300 people ‘like’ us on Facebook, we will randomly select a Facebook fan to receive the prize. If Twitter followers reach 300 first, the prize goes to one of those followers at random.

The prizes we’re giving away are as follows: 300 = Gift Certificate for Service, 350 = Speaker Set, 400 = Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, 500 = Wireless Headset and last (and definitely not least) 600 = a refurbished iPad.

If you’re someone who uses both services, you’re always free to like us on both and double your chances to win. The faster people sign up, the faster we can hand out these prizes.
