Windows 7 Upgrade

If your not already, you should be running Windows 7. By now you’ve heard the myriad positive reviews, and the hype is 100% deserved on Microsoft’s part. Windows 7 is the dream that Windows Vista should have been and much, much more. It’s a full-featured operating system that runs smoothly, looks great and is easy to use.

If you’re currently running Windows Vista, your computer will definitely run Windows 7, and will likely see major performance upgrades from the tweaks Microsoft has made. In addition, the new version of Windows Aero is sleeker than ever. Aero’s peek feature lets you keep track of open programs in the taskbar and quickly find windows for the ultimate multitasking experience. The redesigned taskbar and start menu functionality reduces the need for a cluttered desktop full of icons and lets you easily choose how simple it is to access programs and navigate multiple windows of a program. The built-in driver support is fantastic and recognizes many external devices like cameras, printers, Bluetooth and WiFi modules right out of the box. It also has generic drivers for most PC hardware, so installing the operating system isn’t quite the technological task it once was.

If your computer is still running XP, then it may still be Windows 7 compatible with no changes or with very slight upgrades. It will run on a 1Ghz or higher processor with a minimum of 1GB of RAM which is easily attainable in computers made in the last five years. Windows XP is slowly losing support from manufacturers as the computing industry embraces the change to Windows 7. In addition to the features listed above, users will benefit from added security and the redesigned Windows programs like Microsoft Paint and Windows Mail offer more functionality and improved user interfaces. Windows 7’s library and search features make it easy to quickly find any file or run any program installed on the computer. It is as visually stunning and user friendly as a Mac with the same, reliable Windows feel and vast program availability. It even includes a Windows XP compatibility mode that provides backwards support for most programs that would run under Windows XP.

Windows 7 is the future, and it’s available now. Windows 7 starts at $120 dollars for the Home Premium upgrade, and we at Geek-Easy are offering the installation on most machines at a discounted $70 when you purchase the software through us. We also build custom systems with Windows 7 starting at $475 with most parts having longer than a one-year warranty through their manufacturer. If you have any questions about your current PC supporting Windows 7, just give us a call or stop on by. We’ll show you just how easy the future can be.
